Lesson ≠ bootcamp session

Teaching (unique to CALM-C3)

Career planning, decisions, and lifestyles are linked and ongoing. Setting a plan is an action, not a poster. Lifestyle (hours, place, money given, meaning) constrains career choices and vice versa. Success is defined by the student’s school-safe criteria, not by a single prestige job. Education opportunities are part of the plan (C4/C6 later).

Do not invent FNMI content. Do not paste unrelated GTI chapters into this lesson. Do not reuse a mole worksheet, a different CALM outcome’s confession prompt, or a real household budget.

Diagram timing

When: after the 07:00 example, ~45 s. What: three-circle overlap (plan, decision, lifestyle).

Keep figures simple (schedule strip, budget table, help-seeking map, comparison chart). Timed visuals are teaching aids, not decoration.

Worked example (Cedar Bend)

Jordan likes late kiosk hours (lifestyle: evening person on the card) and is considering a job with 07:00 starts. The lifestyle and the career image conflict. Plan: keep evenings this year, research the morning job’s real hours (C6), decide after Skills Night. Decision and lifestyle stay integrated.

Guided practice

River wants weekends fully off (lifestyle) and retail (career). Name the conflict and one experiment.

Near-miss to repair: using a different outcome’s template (a P12 confession prompt in a money lesson, or a real family budget in a health lesson).

Independent practice

• FOUNDATION: Draw arrows among plan / decision / lifestyle for Jordan.
• CORE: Write one success criterion that is not salary.
• PROFICIENT: Show the plan as ongoing (review date).
• ADVANCED: Explain why copying a celebrity lifestyle is an R3 source problem.

Independent (solo) students complete the same levels on the Cedar Bend kiosk brief or the private packet. No group is mandatory.

Privacy box

Career artifacts may use a school-safe personal profile the student chooses to share, or a fully fictional Cedar Bend persona. No forced disclosure of family status, immigration details, or medical information. HCS3000 remains LINK_ONLY - do not upload certificates into OEOM.

Shared project

This outcome does not require the micro-enterprise. Students continue the independent Cedar Bend kiosk option if they are in that stream, or skip project artifacts today.

Independent option remains available: solo kiosk brief, given numbers only.

Misconception to repair

Lifestyle is later; career is now - as if they do not interact.

Tutor repair: name the wrong idea, give the classroom rule, return to the persona card. No shame.
